Taoist Healing Massage

The Taoist definition of health is "the smooth, harmonious, abundant, and appropriate flow of Qi", and this is what I will assist you in achieving. My massage work includes various methods of deep relaxation, sports massage and Tui Na, which is an Oriental Medicine procedure I studied in Beijing, China. I use the philosophy of Classical Chinese Medicine based upon Taoist methods of health and healing. These principles and techniques are the same as those used in acupuncture, but instead of needles I use an approach that integrates energy healing (Medical QiGong) and acupressure into the massage.

Medical QiGong

Medical QiGong has its foundation in Classical Chinese Medicine. In China it is a mainstream form of treatment available in the Hospital and is used to treat a great range of disharmonies - things from simple headaches to cancerous tumors. No needles are used.

The Medical QiGong work includes hands-on energy manipulation and balancing. A session is done fully clothed, and a mild form of body movement may be used to awaken your energy pathways. At the end of a session a variety of breathing techniques, meditations, and gentle movement exercises may be given for you to do at home in order to maintain your new energy pattern. Sometimes Chinese Herbs are recommended.

While energy work is subtle to receive, it has very profound effects. Physical pain and discomfort, and chronic illness are a way that our body "speaks" to us, telling us that in some way our Mind, Body, and Spirit are not acting harmoniously together. The Medical QiGong work allows you to enter the level of your Spirit and begin to communicate with your Bodymind. Awareness, clarity, and insight into yourself happens naturally as you learn to experience Life, becoming whole and healthy.
